Open Space and Habitat Conservation Planning

Vernal PoolThe South Sacramento Habitat Conservation Plan is an ecological plan aimed at minimizing development regulatory hurdles by streamlining the permit process. It encompasses 341,270 acres, 40 species of plants and animals – 10 of which are threatened or endangered. The Open Space and Ha​bitat Conservation Plan is a collaboration involving Sacramento County, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova and Galt with State and Federal regulatory agencies. ​
