Energy Efficient Streetlights ![]()
This grant-funded project replaces existing County-owned High Pressure Sodium and Mercury Vapor streetlights throughout the unincorporated area with energy-saving Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting. These LED lights last up to 10 years without maintenance, where as the previous lights only lasted three to five years. The county expects to save $62,000 per year in energy costs and the project is expected to be completed September 2012. So, not only does it brighten things up and increase the safety of neighborhoods, it is also highly efficient.
